Example Standardized Assessment:
Independent Living Scales: The independent Living Scales assesses competence in instrumental activities of daily living. The items require the examinee to perform a task, demonstrate knowledge, or problem solve.
This assessment consists of five subscales: Memory and Orientation, Money Management, Managing Home and Transportation, Health and Safety and Social Adjustment. In turn, these five subscales collectively yield an overall standard score indicative of the examinee's ability to function independently with instrumental activities of daily living. Scores are rated: low, moderate and high.
